She

The morning comes and she opens her eyes.

She opens her eyes to a bright world of many promises.

But to her it is only a world built of broken promises made by all the ones who promised to love her.

Before she leaves, she makes sure to strap on her worries and her fears.

She always manages to leave her courage behind.

She steps out into the cold and walks on alone.

The morning comes again and she doesn’t want to open her eyes.

But she opens them anyway, because life just won’t relent.

She rolls on her side and thinks about the ferocity of her pain and how tired she is of fighting.

She hugs herself.

She looks at the clock.

She’s late. Again.

Time never stops.

Before she leaves, she makes sure to strap on her worries and her fears.

She always manages to leave her courage behind.

She steps out into the cold and walks on alone.

The morning comes and she opens her eyes. Again.

She is so tired of being afraid to wake up.

She is so tired of being in pain.

She is so tired of dreading every moment, even the good ones.

So she decides to change.

She decides to be happy.

She decides to let go of it all and be alive.

She jumps out of bed and fixes herself a fancy breakfast.

She looks at herself in the mirror and doesn’t cringe, for the first time in a very long time.

Before she leaves, she makes sure to strap on her courage.

This time she manages to leave her worries and fears behind.

She steps out into the cold and walks bravely on.

Because today is no ordinary day.

Today she finally decided to feel the warmth of the sun.

Today she decided to let go and be alive.

Today she decided to be different.

So thats what she did.

And finally, she looked forward with hope.
